ROLE SUMMARY

We are currently looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to join our Finance team based in Dunfermline. You will be responsible for supporting the delivery and smooth operations of the International Finance Unit. The role holds key responsibilities for reporting of finance lease revenues, overheads analysis and sales tax compliance.

Further elements of the role include:

• Supports Financial Controller on matters relating to legal entities throughout the International Region, including statutory accounting, audit, and tax compliance.
• Supporting the control environment via the development of processes & procedures to enhance and improve controls.
• Responsibility of GMBH Tax & statutory reporting.
• Responsible for Optos France & Spain Statutory Accounts preparation, interface with Financial Controller on finalisation of Statutory Accounts for submission.
• VAT compliance for the UK, France, Spain, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland & ROI.
• Oversee specific areas of Fixed Assets, Concur, expenses, Finance Lease Accounting.
• Ad hoc project work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Daily treasury reporting.
• Monthly Sales Dashboard to EU VP.
• Monthly revenue regional KPI preparation.
• Sales Commission Calculations & monthly payments.
• Interface with both HR & PWC on Global Mobility matters.
• Production of Monthly Department Reporting Packages on Adaptive.
• Month end and ad hoc analytics to Financial Controller on overheads, ensuring accruals have been taken up where appropriate and challenged before ledgers close.
• Leads 1st Balance Sheet reviews & feedback to owners.
• Preparation ofPatent Box reporting – Half Year & Full Year item.
• Preparation of Statutory Accounts for Optos GMBH.
• GMBH ERP Compliance testing.
• French ERP compliance testing.
• Management of Tax for GMBH, France, Spain.
• Support the Financial Controller in the preparation of the PLC statutory accounts, accompanying notes and assist with any audit queries as appropriate.
• Support the Financial Controller in the preparation of the PLC corporate tax pack.
• Responsible for various reconciliations to ensure controls environment operates effectively.
• Maintains and updates policies and procedures.
• Manage team of 2 Finance Assistants, covering AP, GL & other areas under their control.
• Other general accounting duties

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Professional Qualification in Accountancy – CIMA, ACCA, CA (+2 years PQE) 
• Previous experience of statutory accounts beneficial
• Previous experience of Corporate Tax
• Previous experience in a customer focussed environment beneficial.
• Previous experience of Great Plains Dynamics system beneficial.
• Good time management skills to ensure all reports are delivered in a timely manner.
• Good attention to detail with strong ability to report accurately.
• Good computer skills (MS Office applications).
