About us

When a five-year-old boy was blinded after a regular eye exam failed to spot a retinal detachment, his father made it his life’s work to help eye care professionals by revolutionising retinal imaging. Optos was founded by Douglas Anderson in 1992 with the goal to make a patient-friendly device to quickly capture the entire retina.

The experience of Douglas Anderson is a thread that runs through the company to this day and has resulted in our products being used in nearly 20,000 locations globally. optomap® shows up to 82% (200°) of the retina in a single-capture, offering unrivalled clarity and Optos is proud to be recognised as the leader in this field.

To stay at the forefront of technology and offer the very best solutions to our customers, we are at the beginning of an exciting journey that will expand our product offering, cement our position as the leaders in this field and see us expand our already fantastic team.

Over the last 12 months we have made great progress in developing a new generation of products that will use cutting-edge technologies to drive our mission to transform eye care and are now looking for a Change Control Team Leader to support the ongoing change cycle for both existing and new products.

You and the role

Rigorous and self-examining, you will be a highly detailed person focussed on change and the accurate documentation surrounding all change-related activities. Day to day you will liaise with project teams as well as change owners to track and report on the progress of various quality and reliability improvement activities.

We would love it if you came from a fast-paced manufacturing environment and ideally you will have project management experience as well as a deep understanding of product lifecycle management.

Medical devices, automotive or defence/aerospace are all relevant industries and tend to translate well to what we do and how we work.

Hands-on experience from a design office/ technical environment will stand you in good stead as will exposure to the QA function as you will support the wider team with external audits.

You will be no stranger to working cross-functionally and be able to adapt your style depending on who you’re dealing with in the business.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to move into a leadership position and you will lead a small team of 3 document and change control associates. The role and leadership element will require you to lead by example, be flexible in your approach but ultimately persuasive and a highly effective communicator.

From an education perspective you will have an HNC/HND (or equivalent) in a related subject or enough relevant experience.
